Indeed. Very nice DT175. I like the DT360, too, but it looks like it's seen some hard miles.

Schoon, I know I am going to look like an idiot for asking this, but on all three of your 2-stroke bikes, what is that big aluminum-looking cylindrical object right in front of the rear springs?

That is a Yamaha Thermal Flow shock reservoir, they put them on all their dirt bikes back then

Interesting....

I assume it wasn't gas charged and didn't have an internal seal in the reservoir (?), so how did it work? Did the fluid displaced by the shaft just have to flow back into the shock body by gravity, or what? Was the flow to the reservoir metered to produce additional comppression damping?

Sorry for the late response, 175 is long gone sorry. And yeah, what sarnali said The 360 was only $100 to get and was used to go between farms.

Yamaha would have liked for everyone to believe that, but, in truth, the "Thermal-Flow" shock only introduced a larger oil supply to prevent heat fade.

I'm sure Cuddy knows best on this.
