Yamaha V-Star Accessories Hard Saddlebags

I'd like to get a pair of these for my 2005 V-Star Classic. Everywhere I look, they're upwards of $1000 (cheapest I 've found so far is $895.00). I'm hoping that someone has some used ones out there that they'd like to sell. Specifically, I'm looking for a set in Yamaha "Liquid Silver".

Here is a link for some hard bags. you'll need hardware that is sold seperatly.

If it's any help for ya, I have a Royal Star Deluxe and the locking hard bags on it (although likely too big for your model) are ABS plastic and have internal braces made into them when molded (I guess) but the external bracketry is something that could easily be altered. So, if you could get a hold of a set that were made for another model, but a good physical size for your model, if manufactured similar to mine, you could make it work without much trouble and save some coin.
The Leatherlyke bags are hard side and locking, but to me they look like exactly what they are, plastic bags with a leather grain texture, I'd rather have painted bags any day.

Check out ebay seller named acificainc. They make after market saddlebags and tour packs, good prices, but I don't know what kinda quality they offer, and I'm not crazy on how some of them open (from the side, rather then the top, like the Nomad)

It's always the hardware that kills ya, in the pocket book that is.

Going for the hard sale huh? Sorry brother but I gotta call
you out on this one. I'm not saying you can't make it fit but once you do
you'll recieve a healthy laugh amoungst the employees that work at
anyone of the dealers in this guys area. Also see side note:(welder may be required) but will get'er done.

The saddle bags will be bigger then his tank. and the funny thing is Iam not sure if he's got the 1100 or the 650. Either way they will look waaaaaay to big!!! Just saying.

They probably would be too large, but buying anything used and adapting it has to be a cheaper option
