I wouldn't mind dropping a few pounds off the Concours, but I don't want it any louder. I can see where you're coming from.

Nice looking bike, Mike. Sport Touring...good stuff. Did you look at the Concours 14 and/or the ST 1300 before going for the FJ? If so, what put you on the Yamaha?

I rode the Concours and the FJR at a bike rally here (Bikes, Blues & BBQ) before buying. Both great bikes. The FJR just fit me better, nothing more complicated than that. As for the ST1300, I just didn't like anything about it. I also read a few reviews online.
Looking back on my previous rides (Ninja ZX-6, Dyna Glide and Fat Boy) I wanted to be Ninja quick, ride longer and with more comfort. Having a place to put some stuff wasn't a bad thing either. My Harley's were good bikes, just hated the way they handled. Drove me nuts. |

I like the FJR13 and the ZG14, could'nt go wrong with either choice in my opinion. But is it feasible to think you can get that much money for a set of stock headpipe's? If so, maybe I need to raid the shops storage area!

Maybe, maybe not. Given their condition I think it's a good value based on what you'd have to spend to get them from a parts house. $300 is 60% less than any price I've found online. The mufflers went to Germany for a similar value vs. online price. I priced them where I feel is very low because shipping will a little high with the size of the box.

Mike, eBay is probably your only hope to move those pipes.
Different topic, noting your PG link. Let me know if you find a trick to mounting a decent sized flag to a ST. I've not figured one out.

You're probably right...but it was nice to find this forum. Great format and that Ken dude is hilarious. "KLAZY! KLAZY! KLAZY! YOU DON'T BY MY LIFT!"
Will do re: flag |

Where did you get your FJR at - Siloam Springs, Rogers, or Joplin?

Big Boar Powersports in Rogers...Chad, John, and the whole crew are excellent to work with.
Your question reminded me that I originally went to BBB to ride the '09 V-Max. John at Big Boar was waiting for my deposit on the new V-Max. He suggested I go up and ride before making my decision. Glad he did. |
