seriously I think it's a good idea, every week there's some poor SOB from Ft. Lewis who just got back from Iraq wadding himself on a new sportbike. It's a cryin' shame for these kids to survive a year or two in the sandbox only to bite it on I-5 a week after they get home. |
$52 million taxpayer dollars for motorcycle training? Another fine example of wasteful government spending.

Consider the cost of training of even the ordinary snuffy. Tack on the pay out for buying the farm or the medical costs even. It's nothing personal it's just business.

We've had a thread on this before. The Navy is tired of having so many young Marines and sailors get back from the SandBox with a pocketful of money and buying a landspear.
Sure, it's the common 'rulemaking for the lowest common denominator', but the youngsters were offing themselves at an alarming rate. But still. $52 Million!? |
