At almost $700, I'll think I'll stick with my $200 Garmin and a ziploc underwater camera bag. But, the Garmin doesn't "add an extensive directory of Harley-Davidson dealerships to its database."

The Zumo this one is developed from is supposed to be a nice rig. The HD points-of-interest thing is fluff; I'd guess you can find the file to load those into just about any other PND (Personal Navigation Device).
If you haven't messed with it, the Harley Ride Planner (on the HD website) is really neat. You can get a 'canned' route plan from point 'A' to point 'B'; if you don't like that, or want to side trip, you can drag and drop the route to different roads. I use the base model TomTom One (3rd Edition). It's not advertised as being water-proof, and there is no Bluetooth. I can't hear the audio cues, but then, I don't care. I can see when I have a turn coming up, and distance and time to destination. And it was cheap. With the RAM mount and modified Target generic Mini-USB car charger, I've got maybe $200 in the whole setup. Is it safe to assume the "Buell" version has all the weight in the bottom, and it has a really loud cooling fan?

Considering Harley's shady history I think that a database of HD dealerships in the GPS isn't such a good move. "Find a dealership and replace the parts that fall off with ease. We stock lots of 50W oil!" Of course the Rubbies will eat it up. "Yeah I know I paid $500 too much but it shows how bytchen I am to waste $ like that and, dude, I can do a national tour of HD boutiques! I can use the GPS in my BMW sedan! Plus I will always know the exact longitude and latitude of my trailer."

It also prints out 10% off coupons on H-D apparel prior to your arrival.

These things are slick, though not sure how you mount them to your bike.

I'm not sure how other riders handle it, but I've gotten away from putting the GPS on the bike by default. I found the thing so entertaining that it was distracting me too much for motorcycling versus the cage. I just put in on for long trips. Guess I'm not a good multi-tasker...

KM, Love your icon!
I downloaded a bunch of episodes a while back. My 5-year old boy loves the show as much as I do. Almost as much as he likes the "Herculoids".
