Me and my bicycle buddies found a decaying 1959 Super Cub 55 with the four speed box and clutch, rotting behind a church off Benton way and Sunset Blvd. around 1971. All we did was clean out the tank (that was full of water and rust)the carb, and rode the snot out of that little red bike all summer. We would over-rev the motor so badly, that it would bend the pushrods, and the bike would quit. So we would yank the badly bent push rods out of the motor with some vice-grips, beat them straight with a rock, brick or other handy hard object on the sidewalk, and stick 'em back in for more punnishment. Never could kill that little Honda. A precusor of things to come obviously.
