Sat on one the other day at our spiffy new KTM, Triumph, Ducati dealership. Why they had to go and put three of my favorite marque's under one roof I do not know. Felt like a dog with a case of tennis balls. Sat on the Tiger, SpeedIII and then over to the superduke and the hypermotard, multistrada. Checked out the 990 adventure, off to the 990 sm, back to the 848 and 1098, over to the new baby monster... Back to the Scrambler for old time sake. I was torture I tell ya.

The local Triumph dealer is together with KTM and BMW. The Duck dealer is across town. If sitting on Triumphs or KTMs gets me excited I can always bring myself down by sitting on a BMW.

The ones to avoid are Moto Guzzi dealers, sitting on a Norge you feel like some kind of borg being assimilated into the machine....little tendrils attach themselves to your wallet and start to gently extract it from your pocket...your checkbook feels heavy, like there's too much money in there....you find your cell phone next to your ear like some nano implant...the soft carressing voice of your credit union loan officers gently murmuring in Italian........

I still say you won't do it. Just accept the fact that you will be riding a VStrom.
