Nah, He wasn't sure of what facts were available when he began the conversation. He took the approach of: Dad must have been on full on protect mode.

We had a good conversation and in the end he gave me an entire segment. In the end we saw eye to eye on all the points I expressed. Royal (his engineer) even broke in with the news that the shooter has a history of shooting at teens. In the end, Boortz was on my page. He is a rider (for 3 years) and because of his previous Lawyer life he took on the argument of from a defense side. Didn't work with me and in the end he had no fire power with my point of view. If you know Booetz- he'll tear a new one into a nun if the nun can't argue the point effectively.
I smoked him. I have had friends and industry professionals calling for the last two days telling me what a good job I did.

Kirk, no wonder you were so upset when we talked the other day. Seru is right; damn near every day I bite my tongue and ride on after having some a-hole cager pull a stupid on me. It's really hard sometimes; you want to go after them, but given the odds of having a gun pulled on you or a car crashed into you, it's the only choice.

I especially feel for the folks of the rider...no parent should have to go to their kids funeral.

Default funeral was saturday

If you're wondering: The friends and family saw a little less than 200 bikes, many two up, show for the funeral. They broke out into applause when we all pulled into the parking lot. There was a moment on I-85 heading north that you could easily see a half mile of bikes in front of me and maybe as many behind. The support from the motorcycle community was great. There are bunches of pics and great things said on BSB if you're wondering. Bloke's Sportbike Forum - Powered by vBulletin

Sign up for free and look in the header for "new post" and you see the thread from the funeral in there. It was truly moving.

The mom and dad have already said that they will be signing up for the MSF course in tribute to their son and the crowd that came to see him off. The dad (a co-worker with my wife) has said he's going to fix the baby Ninja and keep it.

Thanks to you guys for letting me post this vent. At the time it was real hard to phathom the fact that this cold hearted son of a b!tch shot the kid.

You will see pics of about 80 riders w/ police escort go to the location where it all happened. It was in front of the offenders house. Those two girls and their family could clearly see the crowd that gathered in front all up and down the road. Great statement with NO squidly behavior.

Once again, thanks y'all

Once this fat bastard in a Toyota pickup cut me off real bad, and then flipped me the bird. I got incensed and followd him, and tried to kick a dent in his truck. We both stopped and before I could get off my bike he charged me with a Machette. I got outa there quick. The moral of this story is: "Don't chase morons in cars for cutting you off, unless you're packing a .357.

It's bizzare how often a cager will get mad at a rider for something they did. There must be some explanation for that, but I have no idea what it might be.

people really seem to hate being made a fool of.. especially when it's doing something they thought they were good at.. also many people in my experience just don't know the rules of the road as well as they should.

In any case i think its more the thought of "do you know how easily that could have turned into a police report and possible court date and I'm already late for work." sort of angriness.

Actually, to get all Freudian here, I think a lot of times they're just stuck in a life they didn't plan on, bills out the butt, wife or husband that treats them like sh*t, no respect from their kids or co-workers, sitting in their little cage or overcompensating with a giant ass pick up they know they don't need, going to a crap job they hate, stuck in traffic....just a lot of pent up rage, here we come out with our knees in the breeze having a ball and they just can't take it, like your wife closing her eyes during sex because she can't stand to see you have any fun..........

That or they're just stupid a-holes who can't pour piss out of a boot, let alone drive....

healthier to just avoid them in either case.

I think it's just the "A-hole who can't pour piss from a boot." No need to get all complex about.

There are about 300,000,000 people in the USA. If only 5% of them are a-holes then there are 15,000,000 a-holes for us to encounter each day. Chances are good you're going to encounter a couple.

I tend to think that's the case myself, a lot of them are just **** heads all the way around, we only come into contact with them on the road.
