At first I thought that it's good to have more competition, but Kymco's 250 Venox is a thousand bucks more than the Honda 250 Rebel! What are they thinking?

BrowningBAR 08-10-2007 06:02 AM

Well, in their defense, Venox has 28 horses and the Rebel has about 18. But for the price you might as well get a used KLR or a Ninja500 for a first bike.

Even a used v-star or a Honda 750Shadow for the same price if a cruiser is your thing.

Hey!

All that chromeplated plastic is expensive!

seruzawa 08-10-2007 06:37 AM

For only $800 bucks more....

... you get a Zooker DR650! A Ninja 250 is $1400 less!

Is Kymco the Taiwanese BMW wannabe comonay?

BrowningBAR 08-10-2007 06:48 AM

Yes they are. They are also going to come out with a 600lb dual purpose bike.

I'm watching CNBC right now and everyone is freaking out. The analysts have used the term "crap", "psychotic", "disastrous".

I like how everyone is surprised when you throw out business models everyone is shocked when it turns very bad for that market (mortgage companies, dot coms).

I've never known how to look at the chrome plastic. Should I like it because it's lighter or hate it because it's cheap?

Just give me matte black and call it a day.

Well I wouldn't own one, if they're anything like most mass produced Chinese products they'll be of questionable quality at best. Beside they seem to be bent on following Mao's edict of selling us the rope we hang ourselves with in the form of lead painted toys for our kids, rat poisoned food for our pets, fly ash based acid rain from their coal plants and christ knows what else.

They can have it, I'm not some rabid xenophobic protectionist but come on now, they're not going to do it on my coin if I can help it......

BrowningBAR 08-10-2007 07:39 AM

Oh, you’re just annoyed that they haven't unionized, yet. :)
