Clearly the economy did some damage but H-D's increased production put of lot of "customs" out of business.

Add in the fact that the whole chrome barge thing is OUT right now.

Rat bikes are in. Saw a young kid the other day on a rattle can black Sportster and a mishmash of parts.

Even Bobbers are on the way out. Rat bikes. You heard it here first. Or second.

I check CL daily for bike deals. Love seeing the chrome plated noise makers attempting to be sold for 20k. Good luck with that, no more home equity loans flying off the shelf.

That market is dead, I also hate to see anyone out of work but that whole instant bad-ass catalog custom thing made me want to puke. I'd rather ride a 10 year old Suzuki Bandit than any one of those turds

Well a 10 year old bandit is a superior machine in almost every way to a parts bin custom.

Certainly get more use out of one, I don't think you can beat them in the bang for buck catagory....

Why is it always about what's "in" or what's "out"? Why not just get a bike and ride. Goes to show just how many bikes are exercises in styling.

(Don't get me wrong. I love style, but I think it should come second to function.)

I guess a lot of concern is directed at "What do young people want to ride?". Indications from this neck of the woods are that they want mopeds and ratted-out Japanese bikes. They are taking over the city!
