Er, I think Honda has a misconception of what "adventure bike"means.
Or maybe not. Maybe they've noticed that most AT owners never go off pavement and figure why not market a 650lb V-4 "Adventure bike". |
At lease Honda is trying to fight back against the Italian onslaught that is Ducati. Who would've ever thought a small company like Ducati could even begin to make a ripple in the pond that is a gigantic company like Honda?

Hate to be picky, but trying to squeeze an "article" out of a vague sketch like that is really stretching it...
I asked about the Super Tenere yesterday at the local HonSuzKawaYama dealer. Sales guy said (FWIW) that they had deposits on two already. They aren't expected until sometime next year. Guess the segement is hot. |

Based on the sketch it does look like they are going after Ducati.Honda does seem to have that you will like because we say so attitude of late but that may just be my inability to look at it objectively.

Soichiro would weep at the blandness and hubris. |

Why do people pay hundreds and thousands extra for Hondas? Dumb brand loyalty. Oh wait, I think it's that imperceptible "superior" fit and finish. Yeah that's it. I mean, just look how great all that billet looks on the ST1300. |
The Honda of 2010 is not the same Honda of 1973. They have lost their collective way, and now are content to produce "green" cars and lawnmowers and generators and exploding four stroke MX bikes that are horribly overpriced and shrinking the sport of off-road motorcycling.
Sochiro is spinning in his urn at about 10,000 rpm. If you want a real Honda buy a Chinese knock-off that uses old Honda tooling. Then you'll get something overengineered to the point of silliness that will last for ever. |
All they need to do is import the TransAlp and they have a viable contender
