Cool

That's just plain weird. Makes you wonder what's actually going on over at Harley these days. The Italians will bring plenty of passion into this new ownership. AMA factory team perhaps? the series could use it.

Yeah, but then there would be all the detractors complaining about how unfair the displacement advantage is. And then, the Big Four would pull out when they weren't winning...

Ferracci ran MV's in 2006. I worked at ATD when Scassa's bike failed after race 1 they came to the tent and took a bone stock bike from the tent to raid for parts for race two. It was MADNESS!

As for HD Unions- unlike the UAW counter-parts, they saw the writing on the wall and adjusted just about everything to keep guys on the line. Smart Union managers (is that an oxy-morom) did the work they were hired to do. But if it were a Honda plant they would have never had to re-adjust in the first place. But good for them for seeing the writing on the wall.

Oh stop your whining, besides like Ace said they've already done it. And look low and behold they didn't try to enter the 250 class with their 1000cc entrant.

Harley never seems to have any luck with sportbikes, ever.

I'm sure MV hasn't had much luck with them either.

Just because someone builds great sport bikes, doesn't mean they're making any money at it.

Exactly. The GSXR-1000/R1/ZX-10/CBR1000RR are all the "Loss Leader" bikes of the Big Four.

Ever since HD threw all those Buell employees to the wolves it can KMA. I don't think HD will go out of business. But if it does I no longer care. MV will be better off without the current HD "leadership".

I'd hate to see them go belly up myself, but the current management doesn't engender itself to brand loyalty.....

I'd be just as happy on a BMW

MV has great race heritage. The issue currently is funds. There are none. There were none in 2006. Ferracci funded the team out of pocket. If they could manage about 5 million in race budget and get a title sponsor the bike should be better than the current Kawi. The bigger question is who would pilot it? Stepping onto an unproven Superbike for a season is risky business- regardless of Tom's underwear dance.
