Default H-D's Recovery Plan

Harley-Davidson's recovery plan: Donate some left-over Buells and write them off at full value on your tax return.

"We just made a million dollars right there, yo!"

Why not? I would, why try selling them at a discounted rate when the "loss" is more of a gain. And get some free press on how generous you are in the process.

Yes. Now you too can tear at a mad rate across Haiti's oxcart strewn rutted mud tracks on your way to Papa Doc's Voodoo Palace (A Klazy Ken Enterprise).

“As the relief and stabilization efforts continue, motorcycles can often offer a higher degree of maneuverability and access than other types of vehicles.”

Yeah, if they were KLR 650's maybe. But I wouldn't really want to ride even a Sportster on a dirt road. Maybe there are some Uly's with knobby tires in the shipment?

Read the article. The bikes are going to the UN relief people. Expect them to be smuggled out somewhere else and sold on the black market. It is the UN after all.

Did anybody read the column/blog post by Paul Shirley about the Haiti relief effort? It was definitely interesting. He is a former NBA player who until now wrote a music column on ESPN's Page 2. I really like his writing, he talks about some pretty cool bands, but espn quickly severed ties after this doozie. Basically, he wrote what probably many people think, which nowadays will get you fired from any job.

To say many people viewed this as insensitive is an understatement.

Wow. That guy has Big Ones.

Lot of truth there, however.

By all means we have to be sensitive even if it means opening the gates to the barbarians.
