I was laughing my ass off reading CW's latest where they were trying to slough off the humiliation of making the bike MOTY virtually sight unseen...only 1 person on the staff had ridden it when they made the announcement. They quoted the "a pre-production batch of con-rods...no production engines affected" baloney too.
I guess Prillia did the math on wrongful death lawsuits versus cost of recall and the recall came out cheaper. A-holes, they just lost me as a potential customer, just like Ford did with their Pinto Math.

Another case of a cover-up. This cannot be good for present or future business.

Who in hell straightens con-rods in a 14,000 RPM engine?!? Maybe in a 5hp Briggs and Stratton, but come on, a high-performance motorcycle engine? What the f were they thinking?

I suspect it wasn't so much the actual straightening of the rod, as it was the method used...........
