No matter how tempting it is to enlist the Fed the fact is that driving laws are enacted by the States. The AMA should be lobbying States.

They've been "raising awareness" for decades now and the carnage continues. I'd like to see something a little bit effective rather than more of the same-o same-o.

Cagers know they can just lie and say "I didn't see him" and get off scot free. A first step would be to legally deny the "didn't see him" excuse. Violate someone's right of way.... bam. No excuses. It is every motorists responsibility to see "them". Bicycles and pedestrians too. No more excuses. And what about these entertainment centers they are putting in the luxury cars now? I've seen a lot of these people weaving down the road stabbing at buttons on the dash.

Can't pay attention? Depressed? Worried about something? Then don't get in the freaking car!

I read that next month the AMA is coming out with an equally ground-breaking "Anti-Crack for Babies" stance. They really are proving their worth these days.
