Hey I know, why don't we not turn agricultural food production of corn over to Big Oil, ADM and ConAgra so they can make more money off it as ethanol than they can shipping it to starving people in the third world.......

Oh, silly me...corn as food just stops poor folks from kicking the bucket and stinking up the place....Corn as Ethanol does, um....absolutly nothing to stop "global warming" or reduce energy consumption but dang if it don't look good to those wealthy urban treehuggers who pay so well!

People who get all exercised over Big Evil Oil(tm) need to check out the shenanigans of Monsanto and ADM. Makes Standard Oil look like philanthropists.

And it takes four gallons of propane to make one gallon of ethanol (from corn). You have to boil the corn for about an hour to change the starch into sugar, so the yeast can turn it to alcohol.

Now Brasil has billions and billions of acres of sugarcane. All you have to do with that is squeeze out the juice, add the yeast, let it ferment, and you get back a nice 15-20% wash. Ditill it and blamo. Good for drinking, good for driving. And that's why they're energy independent btw.
