Not to be cold hearted but some of the missing are never going to be found because there's nothing left of them to find. They were either blown to smitherins or burnt to a crisp. When my gramma's sisters husband was killed they basicly buried an empty casket. It was the gesture that was important, there was barely enough left of the poor b*gger to fit in a shoe box.

Some MIAs are purposeful. In Nam pilots agreed to report each other missing if they were obviously killed in the air. Better benefits for the survivors.

The whole MIA thing p!sses me off because a lot of crooks ran scams on families of MIAs for years with phony evidence that POWs were being held captive in Vietnam. It was all BS. Every bit of it.

I'll have to check with the family burier, every family should have one. I know we have flags at the homestead, there's even a plot waiting in a National Cemetary for my sainted mother.

I thought this was all part of the deal. Silly me...

We Interred my Uncle (Dad's youngest brother) in the National Cemetary in Fayetteville, AR - and the Govt. paid for the majority of that, I think because he chose cremation (he died of Cancer and made most of the arrangements himself).

The space available is filling-up: I was told it's getting harder and harder to get an Interrment in a National Cemetary. My Sister wanted Dad near her - so we put him in a local (to her) Cemetary. Same with my Step-Brother - and with my Sister's Husband's Father (all of them having Military Funerals).

All three also got bronze "foot markers" indicating their branch, rank, War Service, and Special Mission status.
