Kinda like figuring out the finishing order at Daytona. Last I heard they were on their 4th list.

Alot of things in life are like making pancakes, the first one usually sucks.

I was just there for a couple days, visiting my folks.

The story is - the City of Myrtle Beach is not 'welcoming' the Dealers Association rally this year. So, the DA is moving their activities to New Bern, NC. IIRC, there are 23 hotel rooms in the town and surrounding countryside.

Now, the City of Myrtle Beach has enacted legislation to discourage bikers from coming to town. Biggest one is the institution of a 'helmet law.' While several think it is unconstitutional (or, at least illegal), it'll be in force this May. Also, there will be significantly more law enforcement, and a very low tolerance for noise, DWI, and behaving badly.

All the other venues North, West and East of MB are still planning on a party. They are concerned, naturally, about attendance, given the negative publicity and incorrect perceptions.

All the above apply to the DA rally on the weekend before Memorial Day. The other 'rally', commonly called 'Black Bike Week', centered in the town of Atlantic Beach a week later, is affected much the same way.

The rumor circulating was that the local LE agencies were going to be bolstered by elements from other jurisdictions. In other words, regardless of which rally, the Man is tired of the annual Zoo, and they are coming down hard on both events this year.

So, go have fun! Just don't be stupid. And, take a helmet.

I wouldn't go there on a bet. They don't want me there, case closed. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Nice place, I went down there fox hunting a couple of times when I was in the navy.

But yeah, screw 'em. They don't want my money I'll spend it somewhere else.

He wouldn't be cleaning dirt, would he?

And again, only the City of Myrtle Beach is doing this (except the LE part). The other towns and venues are planning on carrying on as usual.
