Congrats! Good stuff, Erik! Keep 'em coming.

longride 11-17-2008 05:58 PM

Just think of how many they could sell if they had a 'real motor' in those things. I guess I can dream..............

seruzawa 11-17-2008 07:45 PM

Heh heh.

We called that one right, didn't we?

MOKE1K 11-17-2008 08:32 PM

Yawn,...another Buell.

seruzawa 11-17-2008 08:43 PM

Yawn... another expert who never rode one.

MOKE1K 11-17-2008 09:59 PM

Oh its ok for you to bash, but not me right, come on bro. 12yrs in dealers and you think I'v never tasted the competition?

Wish I could find you trollin around your Logans Canyon. Now that would be fun, hell I'd even give up my real bike and ride any buell for that opportunity.

Underestimation can be a ***** sometimes!

Yeah, you're right about that LOL......

MOKE1K 11-17-2008 10:40 PM

Xb9r was the best I'v ridden tons of tourqe, and alot of fun. That was until I recently threw a leg over the new 1125r which is not built by E.Buell but rotax as you all know.

That thing is a beast, but still has nothing on any of the Japanese/Italian liter bikes of today.

Seruzawa how many Japanese/Italian 1000cc, 750cc, or even 600cc machines have you rode? Do you have any real seattime on any of these bikes? And Iam not talking about ten years ago. Iam talking recently? Since you seem so convinced I'am all talk and no experience.

longride 11-18-2008 06:31 AM

You mean the 'American Sportbike' didn't sell out for the year in the first 5 minutes? Do tell!

You know what, I'm going with MOKE on this one! He is truly saying what 99% of the sportbikers truly feel. Even though it's a fact that 99.99% of them can't even come close to using the full potential of a Buell on the track, much less the street, they still feel the need to have Burger Barn bragging rights by riding a bike they really have no ability to ride anywhere near its potential, and I can understand that. Pretty much every psudo racer that came through MO had a serious ego problem. They need to be assured what great riders and racers they are 24/7, even though they never made a dime racing a motorcycle. It's all they got, because if you can't BE the fastest, you can BUY the fastest. I have to hand it to MOKE on this one, he summed it all up in a few words.

MOKE1K 11-18-2008 06:53 AM

Its so nice too see you backin up your buddy, and taking it way out of context, as usual. The conversation had nothing to do with what you've stated. I'll bring you back, all he said was I had never rode one, and he's wrong. Thats all, you dont have to drum up 99.99% of riders, jezz. Talk about egos?

longride 11-18-2008 07:31 AM

I didn't back him up. I backed you up. I took nothing out of context. Yawn....Buell right? You were going to beat his ass out in Logans Canyon, correct? What was out of context? I'm in total agreement that anyone that has never won a race of any significance, nor made dollar one racing needs the latest and the greatest motorcycle made to inflate an ego that is way out of proportion to their actual skill. I agree with you 100%.

MOKE1K 11-18-2008 09:12 AM

Sorry longride sometimes your sarcasam seems to be pointed at me, I apologize, sorry again! I thought because I'v only heald as high as a number 7plate at best that you were refering to me.

However I do think the Buell's have come a long way since their first design. Just wish it would cut a hole through the Japanese bikes so we Americans could race our own Brand, and represent the U.S manufacture.

4 for one so far. That's pretty good, eh? Methinks we've got a worthy replacement for The One.

Though a Logan Canyon race might be fun. I'll pick the time and day and where to start and just let him go. It'll be fun to watch the UHP impound his dumb@ss. In any case his attitude indicates someone who isn't long for this world.

longride 11-18-2008 09:50 AM

I'm not saying a word!:)

tripleripple 11-18-2008 10:48 AM

I'm convinced. I have a great running 2006 Buell XB12Ss. Will someone please take it off my hands? If you have a truck, you can just have it. I need a superior bike but can't afford to keep this heap and something severely less comfortable but faster above 10K rpms.

See how stuuuuuupid that sounds? I know because I used to make that same argument when I was 18 and loved my buddy's CBR600F3. Grow up MOKE, I did.

longride 11-18-2008 10:59 AM

I'll take the damned thing. I suck at riding anyway. I'm just a stupid commuter with no skills that that is too ignorant to know just how bad a rider I am! :)

No, you know what, I can't do that to you. Your life is already miserable enough, what with all the sucking so bad and commuting around, that I don't want to make it worse by letting you add another "yawn" bike to your stable. Try Chicago Cycle or Fox Valley for a Honda. It's gotta be new though. I repeat, do NOT buy used, they are not as good as the new ones. Doesn't even matter which model. Your life is going to turn around, I know it. Good luck.

Better feel-again - the 1125 motor IS a Buell motor - it's just "subcontracted" to Rotax for the manufacturing (if you listen to what Buell, Inc. sez). Just like those hollow frames are contracted-out, and the wheels, and the Sportster-based engine in the XB line. Eric Buell hasn't "made" an engine for any of his stuff since the '80s............

Argument? no argument here, your buell looks fine underneath you. Is it a crime because I choose something other than your bike? You can ride what you like and I can ride what I like? We both have our reasons for choosing what we ride, I dont think mine is superior, but its proven more competitive.

Have you seen a class thats races Buells and Japanese together other than Moto-st and seen Buells winning?
When they go head to head and the Buell's come out on top, time and time again,...I'll buy one, and race it.

Until then I'am never growing up if thats whats involved. I'll stay young and stupid. Call me crazy but I havent seen a Harley or a Buell continuously beating Mladins Suzuki week in and week out.

So, your Buddies bike was'nt even your bike? Baahhh

"Call me crazy but I havent seen a Harley or a Buell continuously beating Mladins Suzuki week in and week out."

How many times did you beat Mladin this year on what you are riding?

I just mean it's immature to say "it's not the fastest on a racetrack? Yawn." Which is basically what you did. Because you certainly cannot argue a Buell of any kind, save the Blast, is not fast on a racetrack. It's narrow-minded to do that because there are a million and one reasons to ride a motorcycle and amateur racing is pretty much the smallest reason that people do it. Maybe the people at Buell thought about this and decided to cater to a larger audience who doesn't really care about what happens between you and your buddies one weekend a month when the weather cooperates. Have I seen a class where Buells beat Japanese brands? No. Have I seen any class lately? Nope. Who cares? I just don't give a damn.

And is there something funny or demeaning about a friend of mine owning a particular bike ten years ago? I don't get it...

You're funny Moke.

I haven't seen any Suzukis beating the HDs on the 1/2 mile lately. Ever heard of dirt track, the most entertaining motorcycle racing of all? Nothing beats the flat track. Try it.

Dr_Sprocket 11-18-2008 04:18 PM

Have you ever seen how fast those Moto GP 250 riders scoot around the track on Speed TV? They could totally embarrass 99% of the riders out there on the street today.

You know what we used to call skateboarders, back in the day, who had all the best gear but who couldn't bust out a decent trick? Posers.

How many times have you beat him on your cruiser? Thats not what's in question here, dont change the subject.
What's in question is how many buells beat mladin week in and week out, need the answer,...never!

Why does it take a change of subject to win the argument, guess you cant stay on point to win this discussion, is that all you have, guess so. try again.

Have you ever heard of the tl motor in dirt track? Its taken some wins if Iam not mistaken.

MOKE1K 11-18-2008 04:40 PM

Everyone can jump on me if you choose, but the simple fact is NO HARLEY EVEN BUELL HAS NOT BEATEN ANY JAPANESE MANUFACTURE IN OH,...FOREVER, IN SUPERBIKE,...PERIOD! SO STOP YOUR CRYING. Iam the first to buy when they can prove themselves.

MOKE1K 11-18-2008 04:49 PM

Even the mighty VR1000 couldnt do it, and they couldnt even finish a race,....with russell at the controls. WUWT?

longride 11-18-2008 05:17 PM

"How many times have you beat him on your cruiser?"

Same amount of times you did! NONE! And since you are the greatest rider on the best bike, I guess that means you and me are still tied.

Man, is it Live or is it Memorex?

You guys were right - he may indeed be the Reincarnation of The One............

Did you not read what I said,... THEY ARE NOT COMPETITIVE WITH *** BIKES AND NEVER HAVE BEEN. Do you realize they form their own class cause they cant run with the Japanese bike's,....h e l l o?

I' never said they were not fast on a track, I said they cant compete against the japanese bikes on a track? What dont you get? Jezz?

If Buell could beat the Japanese they would, period. They cater to another class of people because they cant beat the Japanese? Figure it out its so obvious,...Duhhh.

MOKE1K 11-18-2008 08:32 PM

You guy's seem to wait in the shadows to pounce on someone that dissagree's with you, and fill their mouths with words, half the crap you've said in your post I never mentioned. Never said my bike was superior,Never said I beat Mladin, never said I was
the greatest rider, never said anything like that?

You guys seem really threatened when someone has a difference of opinion, whats up with that? Iam sorry if you guys feel like Iam on some high horse, I dont view my comments as such, I just dont care for Buells, is that so wrong here, cant I speak my opinions on a free web site, apparently not, without taking a beating.

None of you roadrace, thats cool, I respect that, and have been trying too respect that. Obviously Iam not a proracer but I realize what it takes more so than all of you. I got into this Industry because I love to go fast on a road bike, arent we similar in some respect? It seems when you joke its ok, but when I through my opinionated jokes around no one can handle it? To me thats immature. Give it out and take it in, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Iam forty years old this month, my opinions on what real riding is will not change, so deal with it, deal with my jokes, as I do your's

If you cant take it then I apologize, but if your going to give it, expect it to come back at you. Iam not some young dumb punk thats been riding for 5yrs, I'v been at this for a long time and will not change. Maybe its because I have rode the track and raced, that you hate me, who know's. But I make no apologies for that or my opinions. So lets try to coexist in some type of rational manner, if not bring it on, cause I can go all day long!!!

The_AirHawk 11-18-2008 08:46 PM

Gee, that's pretty old. You should probably sell you Hawks to me. I wouldn't want you to get hurt as you approach your senior years...
