Default i need help with a problem on my fzx 250

my 1999 Yamaha fzx 250 zeal runs great when cold or on a cold day. but for some reason when it gets hot it has a major flat spot aroun 4000rpm. when it gets realy hot it loses power all togeather (gets up to 2-3k rpm and thats it even with ful throtle) runs almost like its out of petrol. and will cut off most the time. any one got any idea to my problem?

It's all in the carbs. Get them cleaned and your problem with be fixed.

Maybe it's a sticky piston ring that gets compression with the cylinder is cool and loses it when it's warmer. But more likely the carbs.

Sounds like termites. What the heck is a Zeal? There use to be a test rider from Motocross Action named zeal, but I doubt Yamaha named a bike after him. Is it a two stroke?
