Default Suzuki Stock Exhaust Mod

I recently purchased a 06 Suzuki M50. NIce bike love the ride but I would like to tweek the exhaust to make it louder. Is it easy to remove baffles? or is there a better alternative to buying a whole new system or slip-ons?

That's not very Environmentally-responsible advice, advocating circumventing the EPA-approved exhaust and factory tune of a Pollution Controlled Vehicle, isn't it?

You will be hurting the environment and causing global warming. I willhave to call the suede denim secret police on you if you attempt to modify the pipes. (psst..a big hole-saw and a 3 foot length of re-bar works wonders on those baffles).

In fact it's punishable by death. 18 U.S.C. § 3626.

Kevanyon, if the denizens of this forum haven't run you off, I'd just like to point out that you cannot 'remove the baffles' from stock pipes.

What you must do is to drill or punch out the baffle plate that 'plugs' the center passage of the exhaust canister. Or, buy one from the aftermarket that was built without the plug.

Be wary of screwing up the fuel mixture, though. Many times, uncorking the exhaust will make the engine run lean. And, the manf. have already built the bikes to run really lean for EPA compliance.

Good luck! And, don't ride it in Florida! We already have plenty of jack@sses that think that straight pipes are cool, and that milking the throttle every freakin' time they get the chance is even cooler!
