Chain question

Hi, this is my first time on. I have a 74 Honda CB200. It's time to change my old 520 drive chain, so I bought a new X-ring 520 chain. It came just yesterday, so it's not installed yet.

Gees, this chain is massive compared to my OEM DID chain. Does anyone know if there's any downside to using a more massive chain? The bike has just barely enough power for highways and hills. Will this chain help or hurt? I will be installing new OEM sprockets as well.

Any info before I install this ginormous linked boa constrictor would be appreciated.

Jeez, I would have bought the cheapest DID chain and kept it well cleaned & oiled. Check to see if it'll fit in the countershaft case, and that it won't rub against anthing in it's sinuious journey around the new sprockets. NOW WE DANCE! (get it? Sprockets? SNL?)

Yeah, maybe I'll return it for a DID? It doesn't look like it'll rub at all, but I was just wondering if a more massive chain has any down side to transmitting the power to the rear wheel. Any thoughts?

A heavier chain will by its very nature sink more horsepower than a lighter one. A 520 chain is used on much more powerful bikes than a 200. A lighter chain will be just fine.
