The "kickback" might be a misfire - could need new plugs if you haven't changed them in the last year or two.

If the gas drips right-after a fill-up on a hot day (or after riding the bike hard - when the engine is good and hot) - it's because of thermal expansion of the fuel - it "fills up" the tank and has to go someplace, so it vents through the cap and into the tank-overflow, down to the ground below the kickstand.

That, or you've got a sticking carb-float, and it just so-happens the carb vent is low-enough to actually work as an overflow without filling the intake-runner and cylinder full of fuel.

Try not-filling all the way up to the top of the tank under the hot conditions - if the fuel-drip goes away, you found the culprit right there (it was YOU! ).

Common problem with your 450. You can re-build your stock carbz, or buy some new used ones at a salvage yard. My buddy down the street has one, and he rode it around on the choke for a year or so before I grabbed him about the neck and shook his little pea head while screaming "FIX THOSE CARBZ!" So we got some used ones from Johnson & Wood and all is good.

I'd say too much Taco Bell, but it could be beer and pickled eggs. Try getting more fiber; whole grains, fruits, and veggies.
