Cool Derusting Tank W/electricity&water?

Just read an article in Motorcyclist retro about doing this. Has anyone here had any experience derusting a tank with electricity, water and battery? Very interesting. Please read my question cause unlike my last thread, Iam looking for first hand experience not opinions. Dont mean to sound like a dyck but hate arguing with people because they have a certain opinion.

It needs to be a heavy concentration of salt water (those long-time readers of MO will be amused at the Irony here) - a battery charger works better, but you have to use an older-style: the new ones all have a bit of electro-trickery that keeps them from energizing the leads without detecting a battery between them.

It works surprisingly well.

Of course you sound like a di<k. There's dozens of MOrons out there who are anxious to begin babbling about all sorts of unrelated bullshirt here, and you're trying to cut that off. Well, not on my watch, Mister.

I knew a guy who heard of somebody who tried that electro-salination de-corrosion un-deposition technique. Apparently he picked up a kit from a booth outside a Klazy Ken seminar for $20. Didn't do crap for the tank rust, but his old lady figured out it would completely and painlessly remove pubic hairs from that certain part of the male body.

Hope that helps.

There is another way to use batteries and salt water to derust a fuel tank. Hook up about 10 car batteries in series, giving you 120 volts. Mix salt with water and pour it on the ground. Stand in the puddle. Place a handful of sharp edges stones in the tank and cap it. Hold the tank in your hands. Have a "friend" connect the terminals of the battery pack to your testicles. Have him remove the terminals when the tank is clean.

K-K, you need to stop using Nair in your derust-kits an' put a box O' that un-iodized sea-salt in there........... cheaper...........

If you live near the ocean you can just fill the tank with D cell batteries, place it submerged in the salt water and let the tide action excite the batteries into generating current. Works like a charm, just buff the paint out when you're done and Bob's yer Uncle...
