Default Mods! Any D.I.Y. types here?

I was hoping that there were some people who do their own mods to their bikes. With my Jeep, I was always finding ways to accomplish things without paying boo koos of bucks to some name brand outfit. Anybody doing stuff to their bike?

what kind of stuff?

I drive a honda 919, I want a cigarette lighter on it somewhere so i can charge mp3 player while i ride... any ideas?

I also want a visible clock on mounted somewhere on the bike. I never wear watches, but would like to track time somewhat.

For a clock, go to Aerostich.

For the electrical outlet, go to Eastern Beaver, particularly the Powerlet page. But before you get a cigarette lighter sort of outlet, make SURE that you need one. They are a terrible type of outlet on a bike.

It's easy to farkle a 919. I have a 599, and you can see what I've done to mine here.

Ha. When we first got to San Diego, our monthly water bill (may have been for two months) was $200 because of the grass and the automagic sprinklers. We immediately shut off the sprinklers, and let the grass die. We flattened out the yard a bit and now have river rock covering most of it. We need to put in a stone/concrete path from the driveway to the porch next, and then add some native drought-resistant plants.

Growing grass in Southern CA is just insane.

If you are looking for DIY guys you've come to the right place. Sarnali and I have screwed up more moto.... er I mean done more hot shyt motorcycle mods than you can shake a stick at. And mscuddy can build a world class MX bike from a Tecumseh engine, baling wire, copper water pipe and duct tape. We've got 1001 uses for eletrical tape and can 'fix' anything with vise grips.

Thank you! I'd like to tidy up the wiring a bit more - I probably will ask Eastern Beaver to make me a wiring harness (it does custom work) to replace the rats nest I made. I also want to expand my old tank so it holds about 7 gallons, and clean up here and there. But overall it is in pretty good shape.
