Well, I'm getting my bike on Wednesday. I'll spend awhile getting use to it the way it is. Then make a decision later as to what I do or don't want to change about it. But from the help I haven't gotten from a majority of you I think you've proven that if I do have questions about upgrading this particular bike that it would be best to take them to a different forum?

Sorry, most of us don't find making noise an upgrade... There is an east bay rat running around during my commute on a blacked out RC51 with the absolute loudest pipes I have ever heard. Walking to my office I can hear him bouncing sound off all the high rises for at least 6 blocks. I must admit its one of the sweetest sounding vtwins Ive heard to date, but when I'm on the curb waiting for the light to change and he's splitting up right next to me its all I can do not to drop kick him off that thing. Should see all the pi$$ed off cage drivers and peds when he rolls up. Nothing like pi$$ing off the caged majority, sometimes we forget they vote.

If you think a disdain for loud pipes is "lack of help", then perhaps you should.

There's certainly no dearth of motorcycle forums brimming-over with ignorant, apathetic people who have no consideration for any other living creature on this planet aside from themselves.

And, you can join the endless parade of posts as garage mechanics try to get their bikes to run well after hosing up the intake/exhause systems those "engineers" "designed" for your bike. You can swap fuel maps, drill holes in airboxes, tune, re-tune, and tune again!

Those are always my favorite..."after I drilled the airbox, went up three sizes on the mainjet and added a full system my bike has a flat spot between 2 and 15k RPM...it sure sounds good though!"

or the ever timely "I remapped, went to K&N pod filters and a full race can, now I get 18 mpg on my R6..what do you think the problem is?".....

There's a couple hundred of years motorcycle experience available on MO's forums. Why would anyone want to listen to that?

I'm a confirmed libertarian. If someone wants to hack up their ride beyond redemption, who am I to stop them?
