Default 2001 Suzuki Intruder 1400 Turned off, Won't Start

Hey all,
I need some help here.. I went out riding the other day, put about 1000 miles on.. Stopped several times that day and had no problems with my bike (2001 Suzuki Intruder 1400). Started and shut off just like normal.. At the last stop of the day I went to get back on the bike and the darn thing wouldn't start. I mean no lights, no headlight, no ignition, nothing.. While checking the battery cables, I found if I banged on the battery case the headlight would flicker.. Thought that the battery was bad, since I didn't find any disconnected wires, coroded terminals or blown fuses.. Got the bike home put in fully charged battery and got the lights to come on.. But tried to start it and heard a click and got nothing, lights were all off again. A couple seconds later, I heard somethings click and the lights came on, tryed to start it again, heard the click again, but nothing, and all the lights were off again.. Now I can't get the lights or anything to come back on... Anyone out there that could point me in the right direction?? Sure would be appriciated... I'll check back here in a day or so. If anyone would like to email me, my email is mrfrosty99@hotmail.com Thanks Scott..

The click sounds like a circuit breaker, I'm guessing a wire has rubbed through somewhere causing a dead short. As with any electrical problem you need to start at the battery and check your wiring from one end to the other, look at the frame where the wires run and see if you see and burnt or smokey looking spots, physically check each connector and look for signs of shorting. It's going to take a little grunt work on your part I'm afraid.

The click also could be coming from the starter solenoid.

If you replaced Suzuki Intruder 1400 with my ex-wife's name in the title. The subject matter would still be valid.
