Vance & Hines problems
I'm putting V&H Baggers on my '07 Nomad but the tabs on the mufflers do not match up with the mounting brackets on the bike. The mufflers slide onto the head pipes & then bolt to the brackets, but they are about 1" short of matching up. They will not slide on any farther, & I have run out of ideas short of cutting length of the head pipes. Anybody know any tricks or am I missing something simple?? Thanks for the help. I haven't had a chance to call V&H yet.

Call V & H *first* and then get back to us.

I have read many reviews & a good bit of the folks say they had problems with the left pipe, same as me. Most had to grind on the head pipe or muffler inlet or cut some of the head pipe. Looks like I'm in the same boat!

Finally got them on, what a headache! I smoothed out the muffler inlet & the head pipe with a Dremel tool but still no luck. I had to cut off about 3/4" from the left head pipe. After that, they went on no problem. Now that they are on, they sound great. Nice and deep through the gears but not too loud at cruising speeds. Definitely a great choice for the Nomad. V&H is very aware of the problem but obviously hasn't done anything about it.

Vance and Hines is a good choice if you have a Harley. They're still hoping this whole "Metric" thing is just a fad. You know: putting 7/16" wrenches on 12mm bolts and stuff.
