Just pulled my bike out for the riding season and got it ready to ride started it up and the idle is running at like 8,000 rpms. any info will be helpfull

Sounds a little low. Get it to idle at 9000 rpms and I think you will be set.

Yeah, you want it to be in the meat of the power curve, after all. Good for quick starts an' all.
Seriously, I'm suspecting fouled carbs or sticky cables. How did you prep your bike for the winter layoff? And finally, check out the link in my .sig. If you just ride year round you wouldn't have to worry about this new-riding-season crap. ![]()

I would run some sea foam thru a tank of fuel, that's what i had to do for the same thing and it cleaned the carbs well as well. It sounds like you have gummed up carbs though......
