Cool FJ-1200 1986 fuel gauge going wild

Wondering if any of you encounter that problem the fuel indicator needle just dance its way up and down like hell and this comes with non working reserve switch ,must be either relay or some other wireing problem , if someone had the same prob and find the cause please reply , i dont want to buy unnessesary parts and find out it wasnt that , thanks for all replys .

The gnome who lives in your bike's gas tank is bummed out, and just doesn't give a hoot after 21 years of thankless service. Invite him to a family BBQ, or take the little bugger bowling, or to a play.

Or you can also go to a salvage yard and get a new used sending unit, since yours is shot. Don't get one that has "Lucas" stamped on it.

I've never yet had a motorcycle fuel gauge that was much more than worthless. Each one said I was on empty when the tank was still half full. Most of the speedos and tachs are inaccurate too, making you believe you are going waaay faster than you are. It must be some govt mandate as part of the conspiracy to sap and impurify our precious bodily fluids......

also looking for FJ 1200s 86 for parts
