I just got back on a 2006 V Star Classic, after a few decades away from riding, but I don't know a damn thing about exhaust systems. The end caps have corroded substantially on my stock pipes, and consequently the bike is running louder than I would like. Can they be repaired/replaced, or am I looking at new pipes? I would gladly give up a few horses to quiet things down. Any ideas for the newbie?

It's difficult to find any aftermarket pipes that are quiet as stock. However since most ya-hoos want loud pipes there's a pretty good supply of lightly used stock exhausts on Craigslist, just put an ad on there asking for the stock exhaust and you should get a few bites.

There's bound to be thousands of take-off OEM exhausts out there that were removed by said Ya-hoos.
Did you search Craig's List?

Thanks, guys. I'm off to Craigslist to search for the Ya-hoos' castoffs!
