I have a Honda 2007 VTX 1800 that will not crank. It has been at the dealership for 3 months now waiting on the FI control, part # 38770-MCH-G42
PGM-FI UNIT . Everyone that I have contacted say this part is on factory back order with no ETA due to the factory being hit by the Tsunami. I have also tried salvage yards and have had no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions? |

Well, if indeed the ECU is the problem, you appear to be doing the only thing you can do at this time; wait.
Might I enquire as to what happened, and how it was arrived at this diagnosis? (dead ECU) I ask as, this isn't the '80s, and all the inputs and outputs are protected nowadays and VERY hard to "kill". (though not impossible)

And I have another question:
Assuming that your starter would run, and the engine was moving.....but it wouldn't fire and run.........why do we have SOOOOO many riders describing that condition (improperly) as "won't crank" ??? It IS cranking, it just won't fire.
