Hmmmm.
Ken, I'm a bit worried about those guys. "As long as you're moving, the fuel is being kept artificially cool by the wind over the tank..." Hoo-wee! 'Hawk, could the secondary air system (maybe it's a CA-legal model) have some kind of fault where the tank gets pressurized? I'm trying to determine how he is getting pressure in the tank. Sloshing fuel wouldn't do that.

its the drain pipe coming off my tank that is leaking. Im just saying that cuz thats the only thing i think it could be (also thats what someone else called it. If its the drain pipe why wouldn't it be plugged anyways? Then if you want to drain the tank you could unscrew it or something. Like changing the oil. Thats the one I plugged up and ran it for like five min in the shed and checked to see if leaked where I plugged it. Which it didnt but when I opened the tank it burst out. Im not able to buy a new tank...there to expensive.

There is no "drain" on a fuel tank. There's the outlet on the bottom at the pet**** that goes to the carbs. Other hoses are for dealing with emissions, overflow, balance tubes, etc. No offense but from what you are posting it looks like you are just screwing it up worse than ever. You need a service manual or better yet to get the bike to someone who knows what they are doing. You can easily cost yourself far more monetary damages than a reputable mechanic would cost.

Bugs, dirt, cobwebs, hemmoroids...all these can block you up.
You could drill a 5/32 hole in the gas cap and leave it that. But it might blow up when you did. Ok, for get that. Do what Seru said. Take it to the shop before somebody loses an eye.

Fun Facts to Know and Tell! Thomas Jefferson wrote that the 1st Amendment erected a "wall of separation" between the church and the state (James Madison said it "drew a line," but it is Jefferson's term that sticks with us today). The phrase is commonly thought to mean that the government should not establish, support, or otherwise involve itself in any religion. Its.......A FACT! |

The vent can be fixed OR the cap with vent can be replaced. You do NOT have to get a whole new tank. BUT.......you should not be so stubborn and should take it to a dealer to be sure what the problem IS. Plugging up stuff that is supposed to be open just proves that stuff you do might be dangerous to you and the bike. I think I told you NOT to ride it......but you ignored that advice and did it anyway, so I expect that you might ignore this advice too and waste your money on something that you don't need. Good luck. I hope you survive.

I read, saw the pic, and responded there before reading the continuation of this thread here. From what jvshouse says here, I believe I have the right of it: Quote:
