I installled a new battery this year and yesterday while riding my bike died. I had no power to start it back and it would not push start. I charged the battery (new this year) and while running the battery voltage drops.

It's the same as a car. The regulator or alternator is bad or you have a broken connection. A shop manual will tell you how to test it and also will give you the wiring diagram.

hey i found this Interactive Battery Tutorial | Batterystuff.com good info on motorcycle batteries
also, what is the voltage on the battery before you start, fully charged it should be like 12.8-13.2, and when starting it should be above 9.5-10. If it is dropping when you start it below, like to below 9 volts, it could have developed an open in the cell. Or, if it was dead when you started, then it may have caused some damage |

or, it could also be that your regulator/rectifier not having a good connection...but it is really easy to test the battery so I would start there.

Make sure your cables are clean at the very least.
