This kit is specifically designed for the VTX 1300/1800-C, as an alternative mount for the license-plate tag, retaining the under-fender location, to avoid running wires to a side mount and retain a balanced look. The included bracket raises the license-plate, and positions it to follow the profiled fender edge curves from all directions, resulting in a much cleaner overall appearance, as well as some extra clearance. The bracket cans also be welded to the fender instead of using the hardware; just make sure to provide a heat insulator, such as a felt-pad, so as not to `burn" the paint.

Who needs a license plate? It just gums up the look of the bike.
