Hey guys I just recently purchased an 05 gsxr 600. I was wanting to change the muffler on it. I dont like the looks of the long canister and I'm wanting to go to a short canister muffler. All the ones I've found are for 06+. Can I use a slip on muffler for an 06+ on my 05?

Sure, they just specifically say "06+" to fool you.....

If you get a PCIII or Yosh box and take the bike to a dyno capable shop to tune it, it can be made to work. But it's going to be expensive and time-consuming.

It's like the old adage where the guy asks the parts distributor how fast his car can be made to go. The answer: "How much money do you have?" applies here.

See if you can find a system for your bike that is designed for it. You'll save a lot of headaches and money in the long run.

This one ( Leo Vince GP Style Slip-On Exhaust - Suzuki GSXR600 - Fits 2005 to 2006 Models - KneeDraggers.com ) fits a '05 or an '06. So it's possible that they are the same fit.

What ever you do don't do a hack job, like Ken said your going to need a power commander. Most of the maps are downloadable on the disc that comes with the pc. It's just a matter of the supplied cable reaching from your bike to home computer. I know the shops Iv worked in would download them for you before you leave the shop so all you have to do is plug and play. Leo exhaust are top notch unlike this hack job exhaust. Don't waste your money or time with this crap below.
