That is an extremely bad idea, your bike will sound and run like crap and most likely fail the MOT.

If you insist on annoying the neighbors spring for a set of aftermarket cans and save the stockers for when you realize your mistake and want to put them back on......

Seriously though, by doing this your going to give up performance. The bad part about that is you won't feel it- if at all- until it's to late. Which at that point you'll need to replace them with either a stock set or aftermarket. Always beable to return your bike back to stock, the next owner may not like your mods.

Ummm, how does one "lose performance" on a Shadow 750? It wouldn't move at all then.

I would suggest you google search for any specific sites on the 750 Shadow and find any real experiences Shadow owners have had with mods for the bike. There's no need to reinvent the wheel. There are probably plenty of people who have already made most of the mistakes that you could learn from.

Your bike is in such a mild state of tune I'm not sure you'll see any real benefit from doing a lot of modifications.....plus mods are a very personal thing, what's cool to you may totally remove any value when you try to sell or trade it for something else. I'm sounding like a wet blanket here but just ride the flippin' thing and gain some experience before you go buggering up a perfectly usable bike..
