I'm a new guy here, and I am having problem with my 1984 Suzuki GL1200 Madura. I replaced the starter, the battery, the fuze box, the starter switch, and the solenoid. When I try to start the Madura it makes this high pitched squeaking noise you can hear a couple houses away. Then it quits, and steam starts rising from the middle of the motor, like a mist. Also, I put Vane & Hines 4 into 2 and velocity stacks on the carbs, and a vetter fairing with AM/FM and C/D. I was thinking of mounting a CB radio on it, since I'm a volunteer fireman in my town, Sedgwick Kansas, and the bike has double duties as the entry in the country parade for our department fundraiser, so I have to get it running without the squealing noise. And did I say it quits after about 5 minutes, with steam rising out from between the V in the engine? Has this funny smell, like dog poop after it quits running. Do you think if I mount a 36 channel CB on it, it would cause more problems with the starter motor? Thanks!

You probably have a blown head gasket.
