Exclamation Duc Motard

I'm the proud owner of an '07 Hypermotard.....It wont start. In fact, with a new battery, nothing happens when I turn the key in the ignition. There is a small red light that does come on just to the right of the instrument panel. Can anyone give me an idea of what to do or look for? I've checked fuses already.
Thanks

I believe your key also acts as an alarm disabler. I have an 07 GT1000.

Maybe when you put the new batter in something needs to be reset. Do you have the red key? That's used to access the computer.

Ask your local dealer.

I was thinking it was a blue key issue, but I ride a Suzuki.

Your dealer may have the "red" key. Sometimes the service managers try to keep track of them when mods are needed. Clever really. They hold the key that allows the "brain" of your bike to make and save changes. If you don't have that key you can't complete many of the task (that you can complete) without it. It's a "DO NOT LOSE" type of situation. When I worked at Atlanta Triumph Ducati we were told you cannot replace the "red" key. You must order an entire wiring harness and CPU- costing several thousand dollars. Scare tactic? Maybe. But I never knew of a customer that lost one or wasn't given one when the bike was delivered.

Hi, no matter if you disconect the batt or not , the program in your key chip should not go away, if you dont have the red key there is a way to unlock the sistem with the ducati computer but u will need the mechanical code, could be something else(hope u DO NOT CONNECT THE BATTERY IN THE WRON WAY) . In that case u will need a new ECU, probably the dashboard, maybe not,TONY.
