You really some kind of need a manual for the bike. Just potting around based on internet advice is eventually going to screw it up and it'll probably cost more than the cost of a manual to fix it.

You didn't come right out and say it, but apparently you did a check for spark on the rear cylinder and got none, right? And you did see a nice blue spark on the front?
There's a low voltage side and a high voltage side to the spark. At some point there is a small wire coming into the coil from the bike's wiring harness. That should have 12 volts. Do you have a multi-meter? You cannot troubleshoot a bike's electrical system without one...or at least a test light. If you have 12vdc at the input to the coil, then it's the coil, the spark plug wire, or the spark plug. If you change or replace those parts and still don't get a spark, it's probably time to head to the shop. We all like to work on our bikes, but you have to know when to quit. A lot of guys have made a small problem a big problem when a couple hundred at the shop would have gotten them back on the road.

Most bikes use electronic ignition that has a spark unit and pickup coils. The pickups are usually somewhere near the end of the crankshaft. Look at the two crank ends and look for a wire coming out. The coils should be behind that cover. Trace the wire and pull the connector end from the harness. You can check the pickups with an ohmmeter but unless someone here has done this before and can give you the data you need the specs from the manual. The coils should not read open. If you are much over a few ohms the coil is probably bad. You might figure it out by comparing the two coils and see if one is much higher then the other.
