A 1.4 watt bulb only pulls about 0.13 amps. You have a serious wiring problem. Better leave them turned off until you trace the problem. Might be an intermittent ground. Inspect all the wiring closely where it touches metal.

I think I told you wrong, 1.4 amp I think is the replacement bulb for the side marker lights. My logic was 1.4 X 2 = 2.8, which is less then 4, so why would a 4 amp fuse blow? unless my logic is bad, I have the wrong info on the replacement bulb, or like you said chafed wiring, bad ground or another wiring S.N.A.F.U.

Okay it's simple. There's a formula: Power (watts) = Current (amps) X Voltage. If you have a 2.8 watt load in a 12 volt system then your current will be: 2.8 = (amps) X 12. So current will be about 1/4 Amps. If you are burning up 4 amp fuses then they are not being fried by the light bulbs. A 4 amp fuse should handle up to 48 watts of load.

Something else is grounding your wires intermittently and blowing the fuse. Better find it before you start a fire in the wiring. 12V Electric fires are not fun. Don't ask me how I know this.
