A 1.4 watt bulb only pulls about 0.13 amps. You have a serious wiring problem. Better leave them turned off until you trace the problem. Might be an intermittent ground. Inspect all the wiring closely where it touches metal.

I think I told you wrong, 1.4 amp I think is the replacement bulb for the side marker lights. My logic was 1.4 X 2 = 2.8, which is less then 4, so why would a 4 amp fuse blow? unless my logic is bad, I have the wrong info on the replacement bulb, or like you said chafed wiring, bad ground or another wiring S.N.A.F.U.
