I'd check the 'Wing sites and see what they recommend.

IMHO, I've never cared for the sound the unmuffled 6 cylinder makes.

Also, IIRC, Motorcycle Consumer News did a comparo a few years back, where they dynoed a stock 'Wing, then again with a variety of aftermarket pipes. There wasn't much difference in performance with any of them.

Yes, if that's all you do. If you correctly re-tune the fuel system to adjust for the inevitable decrease in backpressure, then it won't hurt the motor.

Kenneth_Moore is right theres more to changing pipes then just changing the pipes. on the other hand there's ssssooooooo much you can do cosmetically to a wing, why something as expensive as pipes. I'm personally not a big fan on pipe changes my current ride is loud and just returning from Atlanta - central VA round trip I'd like the stock pipes back on it. I think I'm gonna repack the mufflers if I can figure out all that mess and then have to go get em rejetted (4 carbs)

Talking Hurt

You won't hurt the motor with a pipe change,it just won't run as well.
If you opened up the air intake AND did a free flowing pipe then the bike would run too lean and then you would hurt it.
A LOUD Goldwing..............what are you thinking ?
