Question Hand Shift Idea???

Hi All, I am looking for some input. This fall/winter I will be swapping my Suzuki GS750 to hand-shift. But, instead of the traditional foot clutch, I was planning on re-running my clutch cable, up the shifter and to a normal clutch lever on the shifter, looking similar to a train brake. Ive been looking too see if anyone else has done this, but i haven't turned up any results. Have any of you seen this or am I onto something new? Hope to hear from yall soon!

Check out some Jesse James machines. I know he did it on a few of his. Others have too, bur can't think of any specific builders.

LR, I find your restraint here admirable.

Not much to it.

Figure out where your pivot point is going to be and then build the bracket and locate it on the bike. Fabricate a new linkage and shift lever, then find a really short clutch cable.

Then, once you have the linkages sorted out, buy several sets of u-trou.

'Cause whenever you try to power shift with only one hand on the bars, you'll soil yourself.

Had a guy 'round here years back that put a Sporty 1000cc motor in a Cushman Eagle. (Nothing better to do, I suppose. We called it the 'Sportsman') He set it up in such a manner. He said he power shifted it one time, and that was all he wanted of that nonsense.

I was even thinking about running the shifter up from the foot shifter?

I ran a hand banger on my Shovelhead chopper, it was easy enough once you got used to it. I didn't have to worry about too many people stealing it anyway.

I wouldn't do it on a Suzuki though, mine was that way because it's the look I wanted with the rigid frame and tin primaries and i couldn't find a mousetrap to run a foot shift....I could have used a mousetrap eliminator but I was already used to hand shifting it so WTH
