Default rear Shock adjustment

I'm 155 pounds and have a 500 honda shadow and was liking to adjust the rear shocks for a softer ride and lower the bike a little. What setting should i have the rear shocks at for my weight.
Thanks Craig.

At your weight you can run the rear shocks at the lightest pre-load, i,e, the adjustment collar on the shock at the lowest notch (that un-loads the spring). Your tool kit should have the spanner that fits the collar on the shock, it looks like a "C" with a handle on it.

You can acheive the softer setting like Mcuddy said. But dont use this adjustment to gain a lower seat height. It will make it alot softer meaning that it will sag more but when you go over a bump at 60miles per hour its going to want to pogo you off the bike.

Well, just try it out and see what happens. It's not rocket science.

Cool

Check first by yourself and see what it feels like at the same types of speeds you'll be driving at with the wifey. And make sure to hit a couple bumps at speed.
