Hi all
I am a new rider (approx. 900 miles)
I have a 2007 Ninja 250 and I am looking to get some wider tires. I ride for fun on curvey back roads and would like a little more contact to help me as I learn to handle these curves.

Any suggestions?

You could chose wider tires, but that would negatively affect handling. My brother went through this, looking for tires for his wife's Ninja 250. Look for different tires from different MFG's, but stick with the stock size.

Good advice from the Dr. You can't change over to a tire large enough to give you the look you want (admit it, it's not about handling; you just want to ditch those skinny tires), so go with stock sizes. Some tires are shaped differently than others and will give you a wider look even at the stock size. Have you checked the forums?

Wider tires are almost never a good idea. Added weight, but especially changed geometry are both bad results.

The Kawasaki engineers did a great job. Stick with the size they chose.

As noted above, you can go with a different profile, especially for the front, to suit your riding style.

The stock tires, especially the front, on the older model Ninja 250 are garbage (to put it nicely). Get the Pirelli MT75's.
