Question wiring 12v 55 watt driving lights as headlights

Ok here is the deal, i recently purchased a 93 cbr 600 smoking joe version. The previous owner replaced the single headlight with a pair of 12v 55w atuomotive driving lights mounted in the air intake vents. He also wired it so that the stock hi -low switch is now an on off switch. My question is if that is the proper way of doing it, and if not is there a better way to wire the lights ?

Rig one as high and the other as low, just like my Buell.

If you're asking how to sort the wiring, well, it's not that hard. There's 4 wires. Headlight power, high beam, low beam, and ground.
