Default And So It Begins

It was just a couple of weeks ago when that rat bastard SmokeU posted the photos of the Yamaha RC 350 for sale. Now there's a money order sitting in front of me which I am sending to MN tomorrow.

Apparently he went to a Klazy Ken Seminar. Tricked me with slick sales phrases like "it ran pretty good a while ago, seems pretty straight, has about 2000 miles on it."

Now I have to figure out how to get it 1754 miles South. I guess I'll cough up the $550 for a shipping line. I'm sure within a year I'll have $8k in it and it's value will still be about the cost to ship it here.

I'm so happy I'll probably lay awake dreaming about it. I'll be looking for help.

A Real Man would go up to MN, hand the rat bastard the check, and mount up and ride the bike home.

Then regale his dear friends at MO with the tale of the journey.

I may be going to Ohio Monday to check out a Kaw 750 H2 for sale. Looks like a deal from here.

The Rounder would only do it in 40 below zero weather with 50 mph winds and solid ice for 800 miles. If is isn't like that, why bother?

I owned an R5 so, trust me on this, no way are you going to waste money like I did on that f****** 84 Magna. You can get the engine out of an R5 in less than 1/2 hour, instead of 8.

If there's any way to get an electronic ignition unit for the R5 by all means get it. It'll save you the hassle of dial gauges and hours of points setting sessions.

Smoke said he saw an ignition unit on the net for it. He also sent me a link for a parts place with gaskets, carb rebuild kits, stuff like that.

Maybe I could fly up, coast it to the end of Smoke's street, and then use my free AMA towing service. "Let's get on I-99 South. I think it's about the 593rd exit on the right from here."

For the life of me I can't figure why. But if you do check the motor mounts before you decide.

Bike is supposedly in pristine condition. All original, 13000 miles, and selling for about 1/3rd of what they Ebay for. I guess those aren't bad reasons.
