If the bike has two valves, I run one on the tight side, and the other a little loose. If it has four valves I run one tight, the next one not so tight, the thrid one a little loose, and the last one sloppy loose and noisy. Now on five valves I run them all loose to the point of the keepers dropping off and falling into the lower end. On bikes with sixteen valves I just forget it and go work on the lawnmower with a no.10 flat bast@rd and file all the valve stems down to .06 thousands. Now on bikes with hydraulic lifters I run some Marvel Mystery Oil in the crankcase to make sure the lifters semi-collapse and run loose as a goose. There you go, my thoughts on valves.
