Now we're going to have to take up a collection to purchase a titanium crowbar with which we will pry Fonz's rear from the seat of that thing because I'm guessing he's refusing to get off.
I'll bet you chased every cougar in Marina Del Rey on that, didn't ya Fonz? |

That quote is directly from his book so I'm sure he'll deny he ever said that. |

At last, a bike with the X-Wedge motor. I've been reading about it for what, a couple of years now? About time S-n-S did their own design I'd say.
Also nice to see a custom builder who can figure out 300 series tires don't handle all that well.

It's a shame the X motor was finally ready when the whole custom market crashed. It's going to be hard to pay for that baby now. |

None of the article really gave any detail, but apparently HD and S&S had some serious negotiations about S&S cloning of HD's engine designs. As rabid as HD has been going after anybody who even uses the word "Hog" in their advertising etc., I couldn't figure how S&S got away with building engines that have complete parts interchanability with HD. It looks like when S&S cloned the Twinkie, HD had enough and sent the attorneys.
On the other hand, HD has never had any problem taking designs from the aftermarket. The Softail frame was first built by a guy in a small custom shop. There's dozens of other examples, right down to the heat shields HD has added between the rear cylinder and the rider on the touring bikes this year. Microsoft set the example and the world followed.
