My drum brake and pricing comments were in reference to the Nighthawk. If you look back, you'll see they're responses to the Nighthawk discussion. You con't really tell at first glance though.
My earlier posts talk about the TU, and I have nothing but good things to say.

I would also vote for a twin version of this. Heck A 350 twin would nice in my book. Just so long as I can take it on the interstate.
Or how about putting the 650 Thumper from the DR in one of these ![]() |

After just spending a considerable amount of time looking for a first motorcycle for my wife, I would have to say that the TU looks great! She wasn't a bike fan of the Ninja 250's sport-bike looks and semi sporty riding position, and she can't stand cruisers. I also don't personally think that the cruiser styled mini-motorcycles are the best style for beginner bikes due to the vague front end feeling of the somewhat raked out front end and poor ground clearance(I suppose the market for cruisers is to blame though).
Ended up with an '83 FT500 for the wife for less than half of the TU's price, but it is 25 years old... Very fun, simple little motorcycle. as someone else said, that's how god intended them to be. Ahh, for the days when Honda made interesting motorcycles that didn't sell well. |
